Depression is staggeringly common and can happen to anybody! But we all have been rewarded with this gift of life and we should not let anxiety and depression make our lives terrifying and exhausting.

This post is to provide a quick insight as to how travel can help depression.

1. Gets you moving:

Travel is a means which encourages you to keep exploring, learning, reading and believing. Travelling allows you to vouch for everything which is happening around and embracing what you have! The beautiful nature revives a sense of life in you and start loving your life again!

Nasty thoughts will try to sabotage you every now and then but you need to cherish the beauty and people around and help your fragile mind to face everything with courage! You might feel the situations are sitting like cement blocks on one’s feet but travel will make those blocks feel like feathers in its own magical way.

2. Do the things you want to without judgement:

You need some time to just be with yourself and do whatever you feel; like nobody is watching. Feeling independent helps you in coming out of tough phase of your life and thus help in reducing tensions and depression. Now that can be reading a book in the hilly area, taking sun bath near a beach or hanging alone in a hotel room!

It can be anything and thus travelling allows you to do whatever you desire without judgement.

3. Meet new people:

When you travel you get to interact and meet lot of people around you. You might see some who are suffering from pain or you might also see who are well off than you! When you interact with everybody, you sometimes feel and understand that your reason of depression is nothing in front of their pains and sufferings and the next moment you feel like thanking God for everything you’ve got.

4. Allow you to recharge:

Travel allows you time to live for yourself and do everything which can make you relax and feel happy about yourself. Sky diving, rock climbing, bungee jumping or anything which can help you in making free from stressful feeling. It helps you in tuning with yourself and you get to understand and listen what your heart wants!

If you’re feeling depressed then you should not continue to stay in same environment. The same negative vibes will keep you surrounded and will never let you come out of that zone. There’s definitely something about travelthat makes you feel better.

The fact that you are going somewhere new, beautiful and interesting can even make grumpiest people smile!
