Aubrey David resumes practice with Saprissa

San José, July 22, 2021 ( – After his participation in the Gold Cup with his national team, defender Aubrey David returned to Saprissa and is already training under coach Mauricio Wright for the start of the 2021 Opening Tournament.

The defender played 360 minutes with Trinidad and Tobago in the preliminary phase, facing Saint Kitts and Nevis, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Guyana and Guatemala, as stellar.

Aubrey gave it his all with his national team, to the point that he received a kick to the face that required a nine-stitch suture. However, the Purple continued to show its claw in the contest, but with a mask.

Trinidad and Tobago said goodbye to the Cup on July 19 with a draw against Guatemala, which allowed David to return to Costa Rica to fully join the group that will start the Apertura next Tuesday in the Cave against Santos de Guápiles.

Saprissa starts the 2021 Opening Tournament this coming Tuesday, July 27, when they host Santos de Guápiles at their home.

The purple absences will be Ariel Rodríguez, Kendall Watson, David Guzmán and Jimmy Marín.
