San José, Jul 23 (elmundo.cr) – This Friday the President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado, begins an agenda in the Chorotega Region together with the first lady and coordinator of the Chorotega Region, Claudia Dobles, who since Wednesday has been in the area conducting a working tour of the eleven cantons of the province of Guanacaste.
The day will start with an activity at the facilities of the Hilton Hotel, in Liberia, in which the successful results of the operation and exports of the Coca Cola concentrates plant, installed since September 2019 in that Guanacaste canton will be announced.
After a press conference, Alvarado and Dobles will inspect the progress of the Renal Therapy Unit, which is being built at the Edgardo Baltodano Briceño Hospital.
After that, they will travel to the canton of Bagaces, where they will participate in the delivery of reconstruction works by the CNE and SENARA of the Miravalles Irrigation Project, which once again guarantees water for their productive activity to some 200 agricultural producers in the region. zone.
The next stage of the tour will be in the bordering canton of La Cruz, where there will be a presentation on the completion of the project “Strengthening Asadas to face risks of climate change in the north of Costa Rica”, which provides access to drinking water to more than 65 thousand people from Hojancha, Nicoya, Santa Cruz, La Cruz, Cañas, Liberia and Carrillo.
In that same place, Aqueducts and Sewers will announce the projects for access to drinking water that it is carrying out for the benefit of more than 170 thousand people in Guanacaste.
In the canton of Carrillo, authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock will present on the transformation process in agricultural production that is being carried out and the consolidation of public-private alliances to help a group of more than 100 families to overcome the crisis generated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, through the cultivation of vegetables, in an area where this type of production is unusual.
All these projects of job creation, productive diversification, support for agriculture and access to drinking water were recurring demands raised by the different sectors in the territorial dialogue coordinated last October and November by the First Lady in the Chorotega Region.
The presidential couple’s tour of Guanacaste is part of the commemorative activities to the 197 years of the incorporation of the Party of Nicoya to Costa Rica, in 1824.
