San José, July 21, 2021 (elmundo.cr) – Club Sport Cartaginés will provide two players for the next round of the Gold Cup. Goalkeeper Kevin Briceño and attacker Róger Rojas join the competition.
The Costa Rican Football Federation (Fedef Fútbol) reported that goalkeeper Patrick Sequeira will have to leave the competition because he sprains his ankle, an injury that left him out of the previous Tuesday’s game against Jamaica.
“The Costa Rican Football Federation communicates that the player Patrick Sequeira will not be able to continue in the Gold Cup due to a sprained left ankle. He had a physical test and an MRI. The recovery time you need will not allow you to participate in the rest of the tournament. In his place, goalkeeper Kevin Briceño will be called up.
“The necessary adjustments are made to the antigen and PCR tests so that the player can join the delegation tomorrow, Thursday, that is already in Dallas,” reported Fedef Fútbol.
For his part, Róger Rojas was called up by the H to play against Mexico. The catrachos present positive cases for covid-19, including their technician Fabián Coito.
