Deputies approve in the first debate a Law to provide greater transparency and access to information in the electoral process

San José, Jul 23 ( – This Thursday the deputies approved file 22414 in the first debate, Reform Article 148 of Law No. 8765 Electoral Code, of September 2, 2009 and its Amendments, to Provide Greater Transparency and Access to Information in the Electoral Process.

This project poses the legal obligation that each party submit a brief biography of each candidacy and its respective photograph at the time of submitting the registration form.

In the case of candidacies for the presidency of the Republic, they must also submit the government plan of their party. The delivery format will be defined by the Supreme Electoral Tribunal via regulations.

Likewise, the project consists of a single article to strengthen democratic work.

The initiative was approved with 38 votes in favor and 0 against.
