Farmers will be trained in Internet of Things techniques

( .- Already Stage 2 of the Agroinnovación 4.0 call is available – Fittacori, which is part of the National Plan for Science, Technology and Innovation, with which farmers will be able to train in Internet of Things techniques (IoT for its acronym in English).

The objective of the call that will be open until July 28, is to satisfy the demand for advanced human capital required by the productive sector.

In stage 1, the objective of this contest was to create a registry of suppliers to develop a Training and Technology Transfer program in Precision Agriculture for small and medium-sized farmers accompanied by an IoT kit and the data transmission service based on the protocol of ultra-narrow band telecommunications LPWAN of preference, or other communication protocols to connect beneficiaries in their geographic locations and allow remote interaction of processes with a range greater than 2 kilometers away from the receiving antenna, reported the Ministry of Science, Technology and Telecommunications (Micitt).

In stage 2 it is sought that family farming groups (registered in the Information System for the Registry of Small and Medium Agricultural Producers (Pympa) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock) that They can carry out training activities on their productive plot. The plot must have an irrigation system, for which the person registered in the Pympa must provide an affidavit.

The complementary and non-reimbursable financial aid to be granted will be used to finance the beneficiary’s participation in training and the IoT kit.

The training topics to be financed are the following:

• Principles of irrigation for precision agriculture.
Irrigation IoT sensors for precision agriculture.
• Principles of agroclimatology and IoT climatological sensors for precision agriculture.
• Network systems for precision agriculture using Internet of Things technologies based in the LPWAN ultra-narrowband telecommunications protocol.
• Agricultural production technologies with the use of IoT sensors and their application in irrigation systems.

The maximum amount per request for Non-refundable financial aid per applicant will be $ 14,647, which includes training, didactic material and other supplies, support and continuity of knowledge transfer, including 3 years of data storage and the IoT kit.
