Government will resort to exceptional mechanism to repair roads

( -The Government will resort to a exceptional mechanism to repair the national routes impacted by the heavy rains that hit the country since last Thursday.

This was reported this Saturday by the president of the National Commission for Risk Prevention and Emergency Attention (CNE), Alexander Solis.

The official explained that, according to conversations with the Minister of Public Works and Transportation, Rodolfo Mendez, the exceptional mechanism will be sought because road maintenance contracts are disabled.

The mechanism consists of responding in the first instance with resources and equipment from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT).

“The idea is to make a quick evaluation and use an exception mechanism that the National Emergency Commission and the Emergency Fund for local hiring, ”said Solís.

He added that with this mechanism and with the support of the municipalities they hope to rehabilitate the affected roads in the shortest possible time.

According to the latest CNE report, 8 routes they are impacted by heavy rains and floods.
