San José, July 19 (elmundo.cr) – The Christian Social Deputy Shirley Díaz reiterated her opposition to file 22,433, Approval of financing with the IMF through the Expanded Service Facility of the Fund (SAF) for the support program for post-pandemic recovery and fiscal consolidation.
“I remain firm in my position, NO TO THE IMF!” Said Díaz.
The legislator indicated that she will maintain this same line “that I have proclaimed in this Legislative Assembly and I am not going to approve this 22,433 file that would turn 1,778 million dollars to the State.”
In addition, he stressed that “we cannot continue to approve loans, budgets, taxes, in short, we cannot continue attacking the Costa Rican people with these actions that continue to disproportionately affect their lives and economic stability.”
«Here they come with this loan with the IMF, but they do not come with the clear route that for two years we have been asking for and of which they do not give signs of anything, about economic reactivation projects, which offers solutions to the galloping unemployment that we have today », He added.
Díaz assured that “we are not clear about where each colón that would be obtained with this loan will go, much less do we have a plan to clean up the State’s finances.”
“But neither do we see realistic, achievable and coherent proposals to provide a solution to Costa Ricans,” he concluded.
