San José, Jul 28 (elmundo.cr) – The deputies of the legislative fraction of the National Liberation Party (PLN) met this Wednesday with the presidential candidate José María Figueres.
From the fraction they indicated that during the meeting the legislators and Figueres analyzed “the position on the issue of the exploitation and exploration of oil and gas in Costa Rica.”
“During the work session, the liberationist vocation was highlighted, which since its inception has supported the promotion of initiatives that seek environmental sustainability,” they added.
This Tuesday the President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado, and the Minister of the Presidency, Geannina Dinarte, issued on Tuesday an executive decree to revoke the other legislative files on the plenary agenda (No. 43126-MP).
These are two bills to be discussed and approved in the first debate: Amnesty for the formalization and collection of social charges and the Law that declares the national territory free from exploration and exploitation of oil and gas.
