(CRHoy.com) – The cantons of San Carlos, Upala and Guatuso They join the list of cantons on red alert due to the severe storm that has hit the South Caribbean and the North Zone since Thursday night of last week.
In addition to these 3 cantons, they are also on red alert: Talamanca, Matina, Turrialba, Limón and Sarapiquí.
All the rest of the Caribbean and the North Zone, while the Central Valley it is on a yellow alert and the Pacific is on a green alert.
The National Emergency Commission (CNE) asks emergency committees to monitor weather conditions and keep all protocols activated.
For the general population, it is requested to be informed and abide by the messages that spread the emergency authorities, as well as taking the necessary precautions. They also request:
- Exercise extreme precautions in mountainous parts of the country, such as national parks, volcanic areas, and others.
- Caution to drivers in the face of adverse road conditions, due to rain, fog and winds, both due to visibility and falling trees or landslides.
- For bathers and fishermen, pay special attention to rip currents, waves, tides, in the coastal sectors of the Caribbean and North Pacific.
- Maintain the distancing measures and restrictions issued by the Ministry of Health and other authorities due to the COVID 19 Pandemic that affects the national territory.
