Young man is saved after being attacked by a crocodile in Mexico

( .- What was supposed to be a quiet getaway before starting college turned into a terrible nightmare for an American teenager when she went attacked by a crocodile over 3.5 meters long while on vacation with a friend.

Earlier this month, Kiana hummel was in a tourist complex in the coastal city of Puerto Vallarta, in the state of Jalisco in Mexico, when he suffered the sudden attack of the huge reptile.

The 18-year-old girl went to the beach at night with her travel companion to swim, but before reaching the shore, the gigantic crocodile came out of the water and pounced on her, taking her right leg and dragging her under the sea.

Hummel said that while she was being dragged, she beat the animal until it managed to free itself. However, when she thought the incident was over, the predator grabbed her left ankle and dragged her back under the water.

“I just remember thinking that he would let me go. And then I didn’t think it was going to come out that second time. That was really scary, “Hummel reminded ABC.

Several tourists who were in the place and saw the attack, began to fight against the crocodile to help the teenager escape. Eventually, they managed to rescue her and bring her to safety on shore. Although he was lucky to survive the attack without losing any limbs, Hummel was taken to hospital due to the severity of her injuries.

The teenager affirmed that the posters are small, they are not illuminated at night and are only in Spanish. Twitter

Ariana Martínez, the mother of the teenager, found out about the attack by FaceTime when she was at home and took a flight from San Francisco to Puerto Vallarta to be close to her daughter. “I was on the phone with her screaming: please get me an ambulance, get me an ambulance to take me to the hospital. And it took forever“, He assured.

According to Hummel and her friend, the emergency service took 45 minutes to arrive to the scene of the attack and, once the victim was in the hospital, the clinic authorities demanded that she pay several thousand dollars to be treated.

In addition, the young woman denounced that the resort did not do enough to warn visitors of potential risks. Despite the fact that there are signs on the various beaches of the city, including the hotel, the teenager said that the signs are small, they are not illuminated at night and are only in Spanish.

For his part, Kerstin Sachl, the spokesman for the Marriott tourist complex where the events occurred, said that the place has various preventive measures to prevent this type of attack. “The safety of our guests and employees is our highest priority, and we can confirm that the signage is adequate, as well as the night patrols and the red flags that were and are properly placed, “he said.
